What Really Happened in Maui?

In the late summer of 2023 a series of wildfires devastated the island of Maui. The current death toll is 111 people with hundreds still missing. What happened? Who is responsible? What’s next?
Most media outlets suggest a number of different ways the fires started. Faulty power lines, drought, and high winds are alleged causes of these fires. These vague explanations have allowed conspiracy theories to take the internet by storm. These theories involve Directed Energy Weapons, our government and even billionaires, like Oprah Winfrey.
Some believe that the Maui fires were a ploy to lower the price of real estate and drive native Hawaiians from their land. The fires would destroy the land that belongs to Maui natives, lowering the prices and fueling a massive “land-grab” by billionaires and hotel companies. According to another theory, these fires are suspected to have been caused by Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs).
One of these billionaires is Oprah Winfrey. Oprah owns over 1,000 acres of land, and miraculously the fires didn’t touch any of it. Oprah will be buying more land very soon. How do we know this? In 2017, the Thomas fire engulfed homes near her Montecito Mansion, but once again her property magically remained untouched. Then, after the devastation, Oprah purchased about 30 acres of the surrounding land.
Hotel companies also want to get their hands on this land. Maui is a very remote island that still receives thousands of tourists.These tourists need a place to stay and are willing to spend the money on a Hilton Hotel Suite. Maui is one of the last unexploited areas in the United States, but hotel companies see it as a gold mine.
So, why is our government tied to these theories? Well, our government has sent the residents of Maui a measly $700 in relief. We have sent billions of dollars to Ukraine, but we give US citizens, who have lost everything, only a couple hundred bucks? Why? Well conspiracy theorists tie this into their “land-grab” theory. Maui residents needing money will likely sell their destroyed land to anyone willing to pay for it. This land will, of course, be purchased well below market value. Greedy developers will take advantage of the state the land is in, so they can acquire the land as cheap as possible.
Lastly and most importantly, are Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs). The Government Accountability Office describes them as,”Weapons that use concentrated electromagnetic energy to combat enemy forces and assets. These weapons include high energy lasers and other high power electromagnetics—such as millimeter wave and high power microwave weapons.”
Also, DEWs can be programmed to have their energy reflect off of a certain color wavelength. In the case of the Maui fires, many believe that color to be blue. There is an image circulating showing cars after the Lahaina fires. Every car has been decimated, except for one blue car. The house on the left in the second picture, is Oprah Winfrey’s Maui House. Her house wasn’t always blue, it was recently painted that way.

While these claims are outlandish, that does not mean that they can’t be true. Just remember, not everything is what it seems. Always ask questions and dive deeper than just the headline.
