Legos: Upcoming Sets And Increase In Popularity

Legos, despite being made in 1932, have never once let down kids and their imagination. There are about 19,515 legos set overall. Options include Lego Ninjago, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, Minecraft, and so many more popular lego set types. Legos were originally made in Denmark in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen. Two years after having the idea of these building blocks, he named them after the Danish phrase, leg godt (“play well”). They were first sold in stores all over Europe, flying off the shelves because they were so popular. Legos didn’t make it to the United States till 1961. Ten years later in 1971, they were named the most loved and best selling toys among United States children.

Ever since 1971 Legos have made a great impression on kids all around the world, and have kept their title as one of the most loved toys out there. Obviously they’re other beloved toys out there like American Girl Dolls and Nerf Guns, but there’s nothing quite like Legos. Legos have been popular among all age groups, also being known as one of the most collected toys out there. Lego has helped sparked many shows and video games in the process, which have also been things that are quite popular. Overall, back in 2021, Lego had a net worth of about 9 billion, so seeing how they already had an extremely high net worth 2 years ago, I can only imagine it’s done nothing but grow.

Why exactly am I writing about what is considered a kid’s toy? Because I feel like even though many people love Legos and still collect a lot of them, I feel like they aren’t talked about enough. I feel like they’re great for all ages. They’re just a great thing to collect/have in your room. They’re great decorations, especially when you like plants but don’t want to worry about taking care of them. My personal favorite sets are the lego orchids and Chevrolet Camaro Z28. I like the Chevrolet a lot because you can make it into a convertible, and change the stripes to three different colors. It also looks really cool in general. And the orchids are just really pretty too, kind of a pain to put together, but still worth it nonetheless. All of the Lego botanicals are great decorations. The Lego bonsai tree is also a great option. You can change the leaves from green to pink (cherry blossoms) which are made out of these little frogs.

Overall, if you’re looking for something to invest in, I think Legos are the way to go. The car set are the coolest (my personal opinion) and they’re so many options. Although they can be quite expensive depending on how intricate the Lego set is, I do think they’re something worth putting your effort into.
