Isis Naija Gaston, more popularly known as Ice Spice is an American Rapper. She was born January 1st, 2000 and grew up in The Bronx, New York. Her career took off in 2021 after meeting record producer, RiotUSA. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and planned on going to beauty school before getting into music.
Ice Spice is the oldest of 5 siblings. Her father is African American and is a former underground rapper. Her mother is Dominican and gave birth to her when she was just 17 years old. After Isis turned two her parents got divorced.
She caught her break in march of 2021 by going viral on Tik Tok for doing the popular “Buss it” trend. After this new-found fame she released her first song, “Name of Love” on SoundCloud which later gained alot of popularity on Instagram. Then, almost a year later is when she fully started to grow her music career.
Ice Spice’s career skyrocketed after releasing her 2022 hit single, “Munch (Feelin’ U)” She then went mainstream in early 2023 breaking into the Top 5 Billboard charts. Some of her other popular songs include, “In Ha Mood”, “Boys a Liar Pt.2”, “No Clarity”, “Bikini Bottom” and much more. Just recently, Ice Spice has overtaken The Beatles in monthly Spotify listeners. The Beatles are sitting on 27,905,824 listeners, while Ice Spice is at 28,511,052 monthly listeners.
As Ice Spice continued to grow her fame, she's been seen in recent collabs with other popular artists. Some include Pink Pantheress, Lil Tjay, it is Jev, B-Lovee, etc. These collaborations help her career extremely well and she's even been seen on Tik Tok with Kim Kardashian and her kids recently. Along with her growing popularity, this past Halloween another rapper was seen dressing up as Ice Spice for Halloween. His name is Lil Nas X and he is fairly popular.
