Today Bella and I will be reviewing the game Destiny 2 which is developed and published by Bungie inc. Destiny 2 came out on September 6, 2017 and is the sequel to Destiny which came out on September 9, 2014. We decided to review this game because despite coming out 4 years ago it is still a very popular game and multiple students in the GHHS building play it. Bella and I both have multiple days on the game and will be evaluating the Story, Classes, and expansions. Destiny 2 is a first person loot shooter. First person means the camera perspective is through the playable character’s eyes. The game also has multiple PVP modes. PVP means player vs. player, so you are playing against other people.
The game's general story is that a long time ago, humanity encountered a mysterious entity known as the Traveler. It resembles a gigantic floating sphere, the Traveler helped humanity usher in its Golden Age, sharing the knowledge that let humanity explore the galaxy, colonize exoplanets, and develop the sort of technology that let humans evolve rapidly as a species.
The Traveler was eventually followed by its enemy, the equally mysterious and entirely destructive entity known as the Darkness. The Traveler was losing, and after the Traveler seemingly sacrificed itself to drive off the Darkness, there was not much left of the human species. Various alien races began to move in for the kill, colonizing former human settlements and making humanity’s continued existence uncertain at best.
Everyone refers to the end of the Golden Age as “the Collapse.” The Traveler did one last thing as it dispersed its remaining light to create sentient beings called ghosts who have the power to reanimate humans who have died. These humans with ghosts are called “guardians” and their mission is to protect humanity and the remains of the Traveler.
Overall, the Destiny 2 story is long and complex. But, it’s detailed and has a good plot. It does take a lot of time to go through the whole story, and you even have to buy some of the extra expansions to even finish the story. Which can be fairly annoying considering there are some players who play strictly for the story. I don’t think the story is even finished as of right now, but I do hope they continue to keep it going. I think they will end up continuing the story at some point since it is so complex and already decently long.

My opinion on Destiny 2 (Filippo), is that it is one of the best games ever created. Although I don’t play it nearly as much as I used to, I remember downloading the game to my Xbox 1 for the first time for my 13th birthday in March of 2019 and having such a fun week. Destiny 2 has some aspects that set it apart from other popular games. First off the game has really cool visuals and great graphics despite coming out 5 years ago. The game also semi-frequently receives new content in the form of expansions that bring a ton of content at once but also they are spread out pretty far meaning every fall a new expansion comes out.
The game's story is also pretty unique and has loveable characters like Cayde-6. Another thing I love about the game is the multiplayer aspect. Having the chance to play with friends or random people to help you with the story and or to make it more fun. I also like the multiplayer aspect when it comes to fighting other players despite it being semi-enraging at times.
The one thing I dislike about Destiny 2 is that most of the expansions are locked behind the semi-high price of $60 which is very annoying because I don’t feel like spending money to have fun. Overall the game is very fun and interesting. I would rate the game a 8/10.
My personal thought on Destiny 2 (Bella), is that it’s personally one of my favorite shooter games. I don’t play them as much anymore, and I do like Warframe (considering I did a review on it), I’d say it’s my favorite out of the two. It’s definitely easier to play on an Xbox, PlayStation or just with a controller.
My favorite things about the game are the visuals and the Dawning outfits. As you progress through the game, you’ll make it to the Dreaming City, which is my all time favorite planet and most definitely has the best visuals. The Dawning event happens around every Christmas season. It’s a very pretty event with great character outfits/weapon skins and fun accessories. A lot of the event consists of making cookies out of materials you gain from killing enemies and then proceeding to deliver those cookies. But, overall I believe that Destiny 2 is a great game, especially if you’re into first person shooters with great visuals. I will say the downside is definitely the amount of storage space it takes up on both pc and xbox. But other than that, I would also rate it an 8/10.
