Lion Cub’s Cookies is a local store located right here in Grandview on 1261 Grandview Avenue. Cub’s Cookies started out in December of 2019 as just one guy behind a fold up table at a market in Ohio. Then on June 30th 2021 Lion Cub’s Cookies came to Grandview. Instantly becoming a very popular food place.

Cub's always has 5 cookies on the menu and they are changed weekly for new ones. Only two flavors aren't changed which are chocolate chips aka the original flavor and cookies n’ cream. We will be eating the chocolate chip, triple chocolate, appledoodle cheesecake, and the peanut butter cookie.

Crumbl Cookies is a Utah based cookie shop that opened in 2017. It has now expanded to over 600 bakeries in 47 states nationwide. It is known for its giant cookies that are either really good or terrible. There is a nearby Crumbl Cookies location in Hilliard at 5466 Westpointe Plaza Drive.

Crumbl always has 6 cookies on their weekly rotation 2 of them are always the same these 2 are milk chocolate chip and classic pink sugar. For this review Bella and I are trying all 6 of the weekly cookies which are, milk chocolate chip, strawberry cake, chocolate pumpkin cheesecake, cookie butter white chip, buckeye brownie, and classic, pink sugar.

Filippos opinion on the Lion Cub’s Cookies: The chocolate chip cookie is nice for how simple it is. It’s very soft and not too crumbly. The chocolate chips gave it a nice sweet taste but not too sweet that it was overwhelming. I give the cookie a solid 8/10.

Next up is the triple chocolate. It tasted very much like a brownie which I am not the biggest fan of, but it was a bit too sweet. I didn’t enjoy the texture very much. It was dry and too crumbly. I would have to say it was a 7/10 an ok score.

The peanut butter cookie was the third one we tried. It was the driest cookie I have ever had and the peanut butter itself tasted artificial. This is also just a very bland cookie in appearance and taste. I am a very big peanut butter fan so it pains me to give this cookie a 6.5/10.

The fourth and final cookie was appledoodle cheesecake. Even though the name was off putting it was definitely the best cookie I have ever had. I am a very big cheesecake fan so this was perfect for me. The cheesecake cream was very sweet and made it so the cookie was not dry like many of the others. The cookie base itself was very soft and sweet. Based on all of these attributes, I would have to give the appledoodle cookie a 10/10 perfect score.

Bellas opinion on the Lion Cub’s Cookies: First off - the classic chocolate chip cookie. You can never go wrong with a chocolate chip cookie. Personally, I do enjoy the cookie but it’s not my favorite. I thought it was missing something, specifically more chocolate chips. There was a lot of dough but not enough chocolate. I’d give it a 8/10.

Secondly, there was triple chocolate. This one is my all time favorite from cubs cookies. I love chocolate and there’s just something I really like about it. It’s not too bitter nor too sweet, like some triple chocolate chip cookies can be. I’d give it a 10/10.

Third off, the peanut butter cookie. Now, I really don’t love peanut butter unless it’s in something like a reeses or a buckeye. This one was my least favorite out of the four. Maybe my least favorite I’ve ever had from Cub's. It could just be that I don’t like peanut butter, but I just didn’t like it. The cookie itself also was kinda dry. I’d give it a 5/10.

Lastly, the appledoodle cheesecake cookie. I know, it doesn’t sound too good from the sound of it. But, it’s really good. It has this nice cream cheese frosting on top that makes it 10x better. This one might be my new favorite. If this cookie does make an appearance again then it’s definitely worth trying. I’d give this one a 10/10. Out of all of these cookies, I’d say that the apple cheesecake and the triple chocolate came out on top, obviously. They’re all definitely worth trying, Cub's cookies are really good.

Now, the infamous Crumbl cookies. We’ve heard many mixed reviews from people. We’ve heard many people were satisfied with their orders while others were quite frustrated that they spent money on them. So, Filippo and I decided to try them ourselves and see what the hype is all about.

Out of the six cookies, our top two were the chocolate pumpkin cheesecake and the classic pink sugar cookie. The pink sugar cookie is just a regular sugar cookie with pink icing on the top (as it says in the name.) We didn’t think it was too sweet. Chloe Nelson and Giavanna Cantelmo who also tried the cookies with us, quite enjoyed this one as well. As for the pumpkin cheesecake, we all agreed it was sweet but it was good. It was a chocolate cookie with pumpkin icing, then more chocolate cookie crumbles on top.

Now for the rest of the cookies. We thought the cookie butter white chip kinda looked like a dog treat. It wasn’t a bad cookie, it was just basic and bland. It wasn’t as sweet compared to the rest of the cookies, but it was also drier than the rest. The buckeye brownie cookie also wasn’t too bad, but it was really sweet and messy. None of us liked it that much. The strawberry cheesecake cookie was definitely something. In the picture above, it looks good, but when we got the cookie, the frosting was melting and it looked plain gross.

Overall, we can all agree that Cub's Cookies are better. They’re thicker, gooier, not as crumbly/messy, less sugary, and just overall better. Note, we checked the nutrition facts for Crumbl cookies and their cookies ranged from 500 to 1,000 calories per cookie. Crumbl left some of us with a stomach ache too. So, out of both of the two, Cub's is definitely worth trying. Crumbl is not worth the hype.
