What is the UEFA Champions League? The UEFA Champions League is an annual club football competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations and contested by top-division European clubs, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. This competition would be like March Madness but for European soccer. And Real Madrid is the Duke of Soccer. They made this league in 1955, in Europe.
The Champions League is a tournament of 36 teams. And a six group stage. A group stage is a group with four teams. They all play each other once and whoever has the most points wins, and advances to the round of 32. A win is 3 points, a tie is 1 point, and a loss is 0. There are ways to get into the Champions League. In your league wherever you are you must finish in at a certain ranking. Like top four in your league. So it’s only for the best leagues in Europe. It is an annual event. Probably one of the most anticipated events ever.
Recently there has been an attempt to start a new league. The Super League. This league is a league run by the managers of major soccer teams. Fans around the world were not happy about it at all. There were petitions, protests, and etc. The rules to this league are that 20 clubs play midweek fixtures in the beginning of August. And the teams in the top groups will play each other in the quarter finals.
Basically this league was created for money and greediness. But we want to keep it owned by the fans. As of right now all English Premier League teams have withdrawn from the league. Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and AC Milan have also opted out. If you do play in the Super League you're restricted from international play. They wanted to get rid of the Champions League but the fans make soccer what it is.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the best players to ever play in the Champions League. Their stats and play are out of this world. Here, Cristiano Ronaldo with 134 goals and 37 assists, he has played 176 games with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventes and Lionel Messi with 120 goals and 34 assists. With 149 games with Barcelona.There are many more legends but they don’t come close to these two. But Ronaldo has played 29 more games than Messi. That’s why he has more goals. I know there is a debate who is better Ronaldo or Messi. I just don’t compare them and debate. I have learned to appreciate them as players and people. Like the Lebron James vs Michael Jordan debate.
My favorite team ever are the The Chelsea Blues. They have had one Champions League title in 2012 and more than 40 appearances in the knockout stages. They have had some great players throughout the years. My favorite player ever on Chelsea is Frank Lampard. He is from England and leads the club in goals and assists. He really made me fall in love with the game. But Chelsea are in the Champions League semi-final right now. They have had some tough games and have prevailed throughout them. I have them winning it all. With the help of their new coach Tommy Tuchel. So in my opinion The Blues got this.
In conclusion, the Champions League is for the 4 billion people watching. It is my favorite league ever. Without the Champions League I probably wouldn’t be playing today. So this isn’t MLS or La Liga. This is the world's game.
