#1: five time All-Star Donovan Mitchell is the best player on the Cavaliers in 2024. Mitchell is having a great year so far averaging 28.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. Mitchell was traded to Cleveland last season and has been playing his best basketball of his career there. He was an All-Star starter last season and will be playing in his fourth consecutive All-Star game this year. This season the Cavs lost two of their stars (Garland and Mobley) to injury. During this time period Mitchell really stepped up and led the team to an amazing 16-4 record bringing them from being contenders in the play-in tournament to now top 3 in the Eastern Confrence 9 (Photo: AforAwesome10).
#2: The young star out of Vanderbilt has been highly productive for the Cavs since being drafted back in 2019. Unfortunately, Dariu Garland recently missed 19 games due to a fractured jaw. Since then he has returned and made an instant impact for the team. This season he is averaging 18.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. Garland has one of the deepest bags in the league too; his quickness and tight handles make him extremely hard to guard. He is considered the leader of this team and has the chance to take them deep into the playoffs this year (Photo: Eric Drost).
#3: Jarrett Allen is having another All-Star level year making him 3rd on the list. Allen, out of Texas, is the heart of the defense for the Cavs averaging 10.5 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and shooting 64.1 percent from the field. Similarly to Mitchell, Allen really stepped up when Mobley and Garland got hurt. This year he was snubbed of being an All-Star yet again. He has become a player which Coach Bickerstaff can really depend on to chase down rebounds, score in the paint, and set great screens, making him extremely valuable to the team(Photo: Sporti).
#4: The 2021 3rd overall draft pick, Evan Mobley, is ranked 4th on my list of Cavs players. Mobley recently came off a left knee injury which left him out since early December. The young forward is really starting to play well as his jump shot has developed. This year he is shooting almost 40% from beyond the three point line. Compared to last year he has increased his percentage 17%. If he can keep this up he will become one of the best forwards in the league. This year he is averaging 15.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists (Photo: TaurusEmerald).
#5:Columbus native, Caris Levert(Brooklyn #22) plays a crucial part for the Cavs. He is a vet on the team who serves as a leader for the young squad. This year he is averaging 14.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. These stats aren’t super flashy or anything but he has really fit in to grab a couple baskets a quarter along with a few steals and assists to really help out the team. If this team happens to go into the playoffs he will play a crucial role with his patience and experience from his 10 years in the league (Photo: TDorante10).
