Porsche 911 - The Porsche 911 is a staple in car culture. There are 26 variants of new 911s you can build from Porsche, ranging from stylistic daily drivers to track ready race cars. Porsche crafted a flat six engine for the 911. Since the flat six is, well, flat it keeps the weight as close to the ground as possible. This engine choice makes the 911 very popular for race teams and consumer racers. And it’s pronounced por·shuh not por·sh. Images by Roman Donovsky
Porsche 718 Cayman - Despite looking similar to the 911, the Porsche 718 Cayman is a different, yet equally impressive car. The Porsche 718 Cayman is more of a fun daily car than a performance car. For starters the 718 Cayman utilizes a turbocharged flat 4 cylinder engine (called a boxer engine), instead of a turbocharged flat 6 cylinder engine. Like the 911 this flat engine design helps keep the weight closer to the ground. The boxer engine manipulates the engine cycles in a way that reduces the engine vibration. Images by Roman Donovsky
