The first of many games to come for the boys basketball team happened Friday, December 1st, at 7:30pm. The team played Mechanicsburg at home to kick things off. The boys played really well, winning the game 51-35.
The second game of the season happened on Saturday, December 2nd. The boys played Madison Plains. After having their home opener, they had a road game at Madison Plains. Despite a close game the boys unfortunately lost 37-28 to Madison Plains.
The next game the boys will play is on December 6th. The boys will be playing Liberty Christian High school at 7:30pm. The game will be at Grandview Heights High school, and the student section theme will be U.S.A.
On Friday, December 8th, the boys will have their next game. The Bobcats will be playing Mount Gilead High School at Mount Gilead. The game will be at 7:30pm, and there is no specified theme for the student section.
After that, the next Bobcats basketball game will be on Tuesday, December 12th, at 7:00pm. The boy’s will be playing Bishop Ready. It is an away game with no specified theme for the student section. This will be a real challenge for the Cats, as well as their first league game.
On Saturday, December 16th, the boy’s team will be playing Worthing Christian at 7:30pm. This will be a challenging game for the Bobcats as it is another league game. They play Worthington Christian at Worthing Christian, and the theme for the student section is blackout. Afterwards, there will be a little break, and then the Bobcats will play Whitehall Yearling High School on Friday, December 22. The game is home at 7:30 pm. This will be the Bobcats 3rd league game in a row, and an important one. The student section will be jersey themed.
Starting on Wednesday, December 27th, the Bobcat Holiday Classic will be starting up. The Bobcats will be playing Cristo Rey Columbus high school at 7:45 pm. The Bobcats will have another game on Thursday, but the game time is to be determined, as it is based on if they win or lose on Wednesday.
One week later the boys basketball team will play Newark Catholic on Wednesday, January 3rd. The game will be played at 7:30 pm in the Bobcats gym. The student section will be helmet themed.
The next game in the boys basketball schedule is against Tree of Life on Tuesday, January 9th. The game will be played at 7:30 pm, at the Tree of Life Christian school. There is no specified theme for the student section at this game.
Friday, January 12th, is the next game for the basketball team. The Grandview Heights Bobcats will play Columbus Academy. This is going to be a challenging game for them, as well as another league game. The game is at 7:30 pm, and at Columbus Academy. There is no specified theme for the student section during this game.
The Buckeye Valley Barons are the next team the Bobcats will face. They will play each other on Tuesday, January 16th at 7:30 pm. This game will also be a league game making it an important one to win. It is a home game for the Bobcats, and the student section will be country themed.
On Saturday, January 20th, the Boys will be playing the former league opponent Wellington High school. The game will be played at 7:00 pm, and will be another away game for the Bobcats. The student section will be pajama themed for this game.
The next game on the schedule will be against Bishop Ready High school. This game will be on Friday, January 26th, and played at 7:30 pm. This time it will be a home game for the boys, and another chance to play a league opponent. It will be another challenging game for the Cats. The student section will be a pink out.
Tuesday, January 30th, the Grandview Heights Bobcats will be playing league opponent Worthington Christian once again, but this time it will be a home game. The game will be played at 7:30 pm. This game will also be Best Buddies night, as the basketball team will partner up with best buddies, and students can show their support for the club. The student section will be trash bag themed.
The first February game will be against Whitehall Yearling High school. The game will be on Saturday, February 3rd, and will be played at 7:30 pm. This game will be yet another league game for the Cats. It will be an away game, and there is no specified theme for the student section.
On Tuesday, February 6th, the boys team will be playing Berne Union. While this isn’t a league game, it will still be an important game for the Bobcats to win because the seeding for the OHSAA tournament will be coming up. This will be an away game at Berne Union, and the game will be played at 7:30. There is no specified theme for the student section.
The first of the final three regular season games will be against rival Bexley High School. This will be a home game, and it should be an electric game as it is also a league game. It will be at 7:30 and the student section will be a white out.
The final home game for the regular season will be played on Tuesday, February 13th, against Columbus Academy. This will be a challenging league game for the bobcats, but it will also be a time to celebrate the four seniors on the basketball team. These wonderful young men are Beck James, Ryan Obringer, Ryan Tucker, and Jayden Brown. The game will take place at 7:30 and the student section will be Preppy themed.
The final regular season game will be against Buckeye Valley. This will be an away game for the Bobcats, and will be the final league game of the season. The game will be played at 7:30 pm, and there is no specified theme for this game.
After all of the regular season games, the boys will be into tournament time. This is one loss elimination, and the boys will have a chance to see how far they’ll go this year. That concludes the overview of the 2023-2024 Grandview Heights boys Basketball schedule. Last Season, the best two teams in the league were Worthington Christian and Columbus Academy. Worthington Christian had a record of 21-5, while going 10-2 during conference games. Columbus Academy was the second best team with a record of 21-3, but finished 9-2 in conference games. But this season, Bishop Ready is now in the boys basketball team’s league. Last season, Bishop Ready finished 28-1, going undefeated the whole season, but lost in the state championship game.
