With the 2020 NFL season coming to an end, as the Super Bowl approaches, many eyes are turning towards the 2021 draft. Everyone wants to know who will be the number one pick, with many mock drafts and predictions being put out. But, the draft isn’t the only interesting thing happening in the league during the offseason. The Texans have released statements about Deshaun Watson, their star QB, not wanting to return to practice facilities. As of January 28, he is requesting a trade, with many teams showing interest. The hunt for Deshaun Watson is led by the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, according to Bleacher Report.

The 2021 NFL Draft will take place on Thursday, April 29. This sparks the new season of NFL football as new talent is entered in the league. For many teams this is their hope for the new year. Everyone wants the first round draft pick that makes a huge difference for their team’s record overall. As the draft draws nearer, many scouts and sports analysts are predicting who will be the first pick. After many mock drafts have been released, the first round of the NFL draft order appears to be set. Even months before the actual draft itself, so many people take interest in what moves their team will make that the accuracy on mock drafts is practically guaranteed.

Not everyone cares about the late first round picks, as they are not the most accurate representation of skill level, but the first five lottery picks are almost always accurate. These are the picks that everyone takes notice of into the upcoming season, if you are drafted top 5 in the NFL draft your skills take serious notice and your team is relying on you for change. Pro Football Network has released their mock draft recently, which is found to be one of the most trustworthy sources.

According to this Pro Football Mock DraftThe number one pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars is surely going to be Trevor Lawrence, a quarterback from Clemson. With young stars like D.J. Chark, and Laviska Shenualt, sources predict that Trevor Lawrence will fit in great with the young talent in Jacksonville. At 2, Zach Wilson, QB from BYU is projected to go to the New York Jets. The Jets have an insane amount of cap room, and with Robert Saleh coming into 2021 as the head coach, Wilson fits his style of play perfectly. With the third pick, Devonta Smith, wide receiver from Alabama and the 2020 Heisman winner will go to the Miami Dolphins. Having played with Tua Tagovailoa, QB at Alabama, if he stays on the Dolphins the chemistry should show right from the start giving the Dolphins offense the boost they need. At 4, Justin Fields, quarterback from Ohio State is projected to go to the Falcons. He will have time to sit behind Matt Ryan until his contract expires, and learn before taking the field. With the 5th pick, Penei Sewell, offensive lineman from Oregon is projected to be drafted. With the Bengals needing to protect Burrow, this pick makes sense.

But, in the NFl’s upcoming season, the draft isn’t the only change of scenery people are looking forward to seeing. At the end of the 2020 season, Deshaun Watson said in an interview that he was not happy with the Texans, and as of recently has officially requested a trade. There are many locations Watson will fit into, as he is a pro bowl quarterback. As of now, according to BR Betting, the odds are pointing towards him landing at either New York, Miami, New England, or San Francisco.
